Algund is home to one of the largest outdoor bouldering areas in South Tyrol. Bouldering is climbing without a climbing rope and harness on boulders, rock faces or artificial climbing walls. Particularly in recent years, this sport, which has been a separate discipline of sport climbing since the 1970s, has enjoyed increasing popularity, especially among the younger generation.

A good and weather-independent alternative to rock climbing and bouldering outdoors is the “Rockarena” indoor climbing hall in Meran. On an area of around 730 sqm, there are varied climbing routes of all levels of difficulty, which can be mastered in advance or in part also in top ropes. Clearly not for the faint-hearted: some of the routes are 14 to 16 metres high! If you prefer to let off steam closer to the ground and train your muscles or improve your crawling technique, you are in good hands in the 270 m² boulder park.

Rafting, canyoning, hydro-speed, as well as kajakking and canoeing have turned into popular sports for both the young and old. Until a few years ago, white-water rafting was still something for adventure freaks; however, in the meantime, things have developed and almost everyone can take a plunge with a qualified guide.
